According to watchtutorials, Mexico is a large and diverse country, with a population of over 123 million people. It is the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world, and the 11th most populous nation overall. According to the 2020 census, Mexico has a population density of 46 people per square kilometer, making it one of the most densely populated countries in Latin America. The vast majority of Mexicans are Mestizos, which is a mixture of European and Native American ancestry. Other major ethnic groups include Indigenous peoples, Europeans, and Afro-Mexicans. Additionally, there are sizable populations of Asians, Arabs, and other minority groups within Mexico’s borders. Mexico’s population is highly urbanized; over 80% live in cities or towns. The largest city by far is Mexico City with a population of over 21 million inhabitants; it is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. Other major cities include Guadalajara (5 million), Monterrey (4 million), Puebla (3 million), Leon (2 million), Tijuana (2 million), Juarez (1.5 million) and Cancun (1 million). The remaining population lives in rural areas or small towns scattered throughout Mexico’s 31 states. Mexico’s population continues to grow steadily due to immigration from other countries as well as high birth rates among certain segments of Mexican society such as Indigenous communities living in rural areas or impoverished urban neighborhoods. In addition to immigration from other countries such as Guatemala and El Salvador, recent years have seen an influx of immigrants from Central American countries fleeing poverty or violence at home. This has led to increased diversity within Mexico’s borders as well as an increase in bilingualism among its citizens; Spanish remains the main language spoken but English is increasingly popular among younger generations living near border states like Texas or California where English dominates in everyday life See itypetravel for Mexico Population and Language.
