the official name of the country is:
Nauru is a parliamentary republic that can also be described as a
presidential-parliamentary republic in the Commonwealth of Nations.
The parliament with 18 members is elected for three years, and the president
also holds office for the same length of time. You can vote from the age of 20.
There is only one party, the Democratic Party of Nauru, DPN. Kinship
associations form further interest groups, which are to be understood as
"quasi-parties". This is also reflected in the number of districts.
The tiny state, the island is 7 km long and 5 km wide, is divided into the
following 14 districts: Aiwo, Anabar, Anetan, Anibare, Baiti, Boe, Buada,
Denigomodu, Ewa, Ijuw, Meneng, Nibok, Uaboe and Yaren.
National anthem
