Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

Full-time program

The admissions decision is based on the candidate's potential to be successful in the program, his or her ability to contribute to the class perspective and Smith's ability to accommodate a limited number of students. Work experience gives an important edge; GPA, GMAT scores, a resume and two letters of recommendation related to the applicant's professional and academic performance are required.

Executive program

Applicants tend to have an undergraduate degree, 8-20 years of professional experience and significant management experience. Candidates are reviewed as unique individuals and the sum of their experiences evaluated. They must submit an application with essays, transcripts, a sponsorship letter, and two letters of recommendation on their professional expertise. An interview is also required.
