Arriving by plane

Sydney is served daily by airlines from Europe, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, North and South America. New South Wales has an excellent road network. Arrival by train

Rail connections exist to all other states. An intercity rail network connects almost all cities and resorts and runs as far south as Canberra. The NSW TrainLink Discovery Pass entitles you to unlimited travel on the bus and train network in North South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Canberra. Travelers can choose between validity periods of 14 days or 1, 3 or 6 months.

Arrival by ship

Sydney is an international port city. Cruise ships from Europe, the Far East and the USA dock here. Numerous half and full day scenic drives depart from Circular Quay to see the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley wine region, wildlife sanctuaries and dusk cruises.

Entry with children

Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.

Overview

Warm and partly tropical in summer, especially in the lowlands of the middle region. It is cooler in the mountains to the west. The heaviest rainfall occurs between March and June.
