Northern Mariana Islands: Political System
According to topschoolsintheusa, the Northern Mariana Islands have a status comparable to that of Puerto Rico. You are an American outlying area.
The islands’ citizens are US citizens, but they are not allowed to vote in the US presidential election, for example. However, you are also exempt from US income tax.
There is a bicameral parliament consisting of a senate with nine senators, three each from the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota, and a house of representatives with 15 members. Of the 15 representatives, 13 are from Saipan Island and one each from Rota and Tinian. The legislative period is two years.
The head of state is the President of the USA.

National anthem
Based on flag descriptions by Countryaah.com, the country has two national anthems, the parent American national anthem and the local anthem, which has been in use since 1996. The music of the local hymn was written by Wilhelm Ganzhorn (1818-1880) based on the melody of the German song “In the Most Beautiful Wiesengrunde”, the text is by Jose S. Pangelinan.
