Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

Full-time program
Candidates must show potential for success in global environment; demonstrated analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and outstanding academic achievement. Interviews are offered by invitation. Completed applications contain transcripts, GMAT, TOEFL/PTE (international), two professional referrals, two essays and resume. Currently, there is no application fee.
Executive program
The Cox EMBA Program admits diverse and experienced professionals in mid-to-senior level management positions seeking to leverage their work experience. At least 8 years of work experience required. Application: resume review with preliminary phone interview, required class visit, online application with 3 essays, 2 letters of recommendation & official transcripts, and an in-person interview.
Part-time program
Those with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years work experience are encouraged to apply for the SMU Cox PMBA. We seek to admit well-rounded individuals who have clearly demonstrated academic achievement and leadership capacity. Applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis. Interviews are conducted at the discretion of the admissions committee.
