According to watchtutorials, Fiji is a country in the South Pacific Ocean that consists of over 300 islands. The population of Fiji is estimated to be around 890,000 people. Most of the population is made up of native Fijians, who are mainly Melanesian and Polynesian. There is also a small minority of Indian origin, who are descendants of indentured laborers brought to Fiji during British colonization. The majority of the population lives on Viti Levu, the largest island in Fiji which contains around two-thirds of the total population. Other major islands include Vanua Levu and Taveuni. The main religion in Fiji is Christianity, with most Fijians identifying as Protestant or Roman Catholic. Hinduism and Islam are also practiced by some members of the Indian minority population. English is widely spoken throughout the country, but Fijian and Hindustani are also spoken by many people in Fiji. Education levels are high in Fiji with primary and secondary schooling available to everyone free of charge.
