According to allcitypopulation, Georgia is a country located at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bordered by Russia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, Armenia and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the west. As of 2019, Georgia had an estimated population of 3.7 million people. The majority of Georgia’s population is composed of ethnic Georgians (84%), followed by Armenians (6%), Azerbaijanis (5%), Russians (2%), and other ethnic minorities. The vast majority of Georgians are Orthodox Christians (83%) while 11% are Muslim and 6% are non-denominational or members of other religions. The population density in Georgia varies greatly from region to region; while some regions have a population density as high as 200 people per square kilometer, others have less than 20 people per square kilometer. The capital city of Tbilisi is home to 1.5 million people and has a population density of about 2200 people per square kilometer making it one of the most densely populated cities in Europe. The Georgian government has implemented various policies aimed at increasing economic opportunities for its citizens in order to reduce poverty levels which currently stand at 28%. Despite this, Georgia still faces significant challenges when it comes to health care access; only 44% of its citizens have access to modern health care services due largely to a shortage in qualified medical professionals.
