According to watchtutorials, Iceland is a small and sparsely populated island nation located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of around 364,000 people, making it one of the least populous countries in Europe. Icelanders are mostly of Nordic and Gaelic descent, with some influences from other European and Asian countries. The majority of Icelanders are Lutheran, although there are also smaller numbers of Catholics, Muslims, Jews, and other religious groups present. Icelanders have a strong sense of national identity which is reflected in their language and culture. Iceland has two official languages: Icelandic and English. Most Icelanders speak both languages fluently but Icelandic is the primary language used in everyday life. Icelandic culture is strongly rooted in Norse mythology and folklore, with many traditional customs still practiced today. In addition to its unique cultural heritage, Iceland has become renowned for its stunning natural beauty; glaciers, fjords, volcanoes and hot springs make up much of the landscape here. The country also has an active outdoor lifestyle with plenty of opportunities for activities such as skiing, hiking and horseback riding available to visitors year-round.
