According to watchtutorials, Israel is a small country located in the Middle East, with a population of 8.7 million people. Jews make up the majority of the population at 74%, with 21% being Arab and 4.4% being other minorities. The majority of Israelis live in cities, with Jerusalem being the largest city and home to nearly one third of the population. Tel Aviv is also a major city, with over 400,000 inhabitants. The remaining population is spread out across smaller towns and rural areas throughout Israel, from the coastal region to the northern border with Lebanon. Israel’s population growth rate is relatively high compared to other developed countries, due to immigration and natural growth. Between 1948 and 2019, Israel’s population has grown by close to 5 million people due to immigration from all over the world, especially from Europe and North America as well as from African countries like Ethiopia and Sudan. In addition, Israel has seen a high birth rate amongst its citizens which has contributed to its growing population as well. This influx of people has led to an influx of different cultures and languages in Israel as well; Hebrew is still spoken by most Israelis but Arabic, English, French, Russian, Yiddish and many other languages are also spoken within its borders.
