According to allcitypopulation, Sweden is a country located in Northern Europe. It has a population of 10.3 million people, making it the fifth most populous country in the European Union. The majority of the population are ethnic Swedes, making up 85% of the total population. The largest minority groups are Finns, followed by immigrants and their descendants from various other countries such as Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Somalia. The average life expectancy in Sweden is 82 years for men and 84 years for women, making it one of the highest in Europe. The birth rate is also relatively high compared to other European countries with an average of 1.8 children per woman over her lifetime. The total fertility rate stands at 1.9 children per woman which is above the replacement rate for populations in developed countries (2.1). In addition to Swedes, there are also many foreign-born residents living in Sweden with around 20% of the population being born abroad or having at least one parent born abroad. This has resulted in an increasingly diverse cultural landscape with many different languages and cultures being represented within Sweden’s society today.
