According to allcitypopulation, Uganda is home to a population of approximately 44 million people, according to the most recent census conducted in 2014. The population is mainly composed of Bantu-speaking peoples, including the Baganda, Banyankore and Basoga. Other ethnic groups include the Acholi, Langi and Iteso. The majority of Ugandans live in rural areas, with only around 15% living in urban centers. The country has a relatively young population, with over half the population under the age of 18. This is due to a high fertility rate and a low life expectancy rate of just over 63 years. Uganda also has a large refugee population due to conflicts in neighboring countries such as South Sudan and Somalia. Refugees make up approximately 2% of the total population and are mainly located in camps throughout Uganda’s western region. Uganda is a diverse country, with many different languages spoken by its people including English, Swahili and Luganda. See ejinhua for Uganda Population and Language.
