The largest district in the county is the Fond du Lac School District, which serves over 10,000 students in grades K-12. The district operates eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. It also has an alternative high school and several alternative education programs to meet the needs of all students. The Fond du Lac School District offers a range of educational programming that includes Advanced Placement (AP) courses, concurrent enrollment options with local colleges and universities, and special education services. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for success in college and beyond by providing rigorous academic standards as well as extra-curricular activities such as music, art, athletics, theater arts and more. In addition to the Fond du Lac School District, there are several other smaller districts in the county such as Oakfield School District which serves about 500 students; North Fond du Lac School District with over 1,000 students; Campbellsport School District with 1,200 students; Waupun Area School District with 3,400 students; Lomira School District with 1,800 student; and Ripon Area School District with 2,700 student. All these districts offer quality educational programs that are tailored to meet their individual student’s needs. The Fond du Lac County school districts have strong partnerships with local businesses that allow them to create unique learning experiences for their students. For example many schools have developed mentorship programs that connect business professionals with their classrooms to provide hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, many of these districts have also formed partnerships with higher education institutions such as University Wisconsin – Fond Du Lac or Marian University so that their graduates can easily transition into college life. Overall, the school districts of Fond Du Lac County offer excellent educational opportunities for its residents both young and old alike.
