Students pursuing a Master of Business Administration has an abundance of options to choose from when it comes to choosing a school. While assessments of these schools is a subjective endeavor at best, writers and editors at Bloomberg BusinessWeek annual ranking MBA programs from all over the country. Although these rankings are the subject of debate, the list does not give a good picture of some of the most quality schools from all over the country. Bloomberg BusinessWeek created the rankings using surveys of MBA graduates and recruiters, payroll information from recent graduates and an academic quality measure.
The University of Chicago
Occupying the top spot is the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business full-time MBA program. Students enrolled in the highly competitive program in school for 21 months, while take 3-4 courses per quarter. Acceptance is highly selective, however, and the average enrollee has a Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score of 714. According to the Graduate Management Admissions Council, the average GMAT score falls in the middle of 500 90s.

Harvard University
MBA program at Harvard Business School is definitely one of the better known programs in the country and comes in at second place on the list. In keeping with its reputation for offering a high quality education, Harvard’s MBA program is one of the most prestigious in the country. Admissions are highly selective and, according to data collected by Bloomberg BusinessWeek, the school admitted 12 percent of 9093 applicants for the 2010 class. The top rated public school on Bloomberg BusinessWeek list, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business comes in as the fifth best MBA program in the country. Despite its status as a public school, however, the MBA program is highly selective. Admittees had in 2010 an average ratio of 3.4 and an average GMAT of 701.

Duke put great emphasis on work experience during the processing of applications for admission.
