According to watchtutorials, Finland is a small country in Northern Europe, with a population of just over 5.5 million people. It is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world. The majority of the population lives in urban areas, with approximately one-third concentrated around the capital city of Helsinki. The rest are spread throughout the country’s numerous smaller towns and villages. The majority of Finland’s population is ethnically Finnish, with Swedish being the second largest group at 5.3%. Other ethnic minorities include Russians, Estonians, and Sami people who inhabit Finland’s northernmost regions. Additionally, there has been recent growth in Finland’s immigrant population due to an influx of refugees from Syria and other Middle Eastern countries. This has led to an increase in cultural diversity within Finland as well as some social tensions between different groups. In terms of religion, Lutheranism is by far the most common denomination among Finns at 71%. Other Christian denominations make up about 2%, while non-religious accounts for 28%. As for language use, Finnish is spoken by 93% of the population while Swedish is spoken by 5%. English is also widely used as a second language and is taught in schools from an early age. See iamhigher for Finland Population and Language.
