According to watchtutorials, Monaco is one of the smallest countries in the world with a population of just over 38,000 people. The majority of Monaco’s population is made up of French citizens, accounting for nearly 25,000 people. Another 8,000 are Italian citizens, while the remaining 5,000 are comprised of other nationalities. Monaco has a high level of foreign-born residents and it is estimated that around 28% of its population was born outside the country. The majority of these immigrants come from France and Italy but there are also many from North Africa and other parts of Europe. There is also a sizeable expat community in Monaco made up mainly of wealthy individuals from all over the world who have chosen to make Monaco their home. The Principality’s population is relatively young, with an average age of only 32 years old and a life expectancy rate higher than most European nations at 90 years old for men and 94 years old for women. This means that Monaco has one of the highest life expectancies in the world. Additionally, Monaco boasts an impressive fertility rate which currently stands at 1.6 children per woman – significantly higher than many other countries in Europe and beyond. In terms of education levels, nearly 95% percent complete secondary school while 37% go on to higher education – both figures being much higher than those seen elsewhere in Europe.
